PanXchange was founded in 2011 by Julie Lerner, a veteran trader and entrepreneur who used her own experiences in the agricultural and energy markets to develop PanXchange’s trading platform.
PanXchange was originally designed to seek a more efficient process for locating physical sugar and simultaneous sale opportunities, as the old system of relying on phone calls, texts, and emails became antiquated. The market needed more negotiable deals, as well as a system that was easy and efficient for traders, anonymous, and without clearing. Julie quickly realized that her solution to these pain points in the sugar markets could be scaled to other commodities.
Now, PanXchange aggregates the negotiation and trade of all types of physical commodities into one web-based platform, offering instant price discovery and market access for increased operating efficiency and profit opportunities. Built by a trader for traders, PanXchange is a market structure solution developed by commodity specialists.
PanXchange has multiple offices throughout the country and the globe, with headquarters in the emerging technology center of Denver, Colorado. Julie and her team consistently mentor other Denver entrepreneurs, and they make sure to regularly take advantage of the city’s unrivaled access to outdoor activities.
Julie Lerner is the Founder and CEO of PanXchange. She holds two patents on the system, was selected as a Futures Industry Association Innovator and most recently, was selected as an Outstanding Woman in Business by the Denver Business Journal.

She has also held several positions in trading and business development with companies such as XL Financial (weather derivatives) and Sempra Energy Trading (electricity).
